What is music production all
about?
The job of the producer is two-fold, to take the essence
of recorded material with any other sound material recorded
and produce a single, album or song or musical concept (which
may comprise of words and melody) with musical direction into
something that enhances and brings out the best of the artist,
band, or project.
In other words, the producer pays attention to the identity
of the performing artist, psychological aspects and provides
the artist with concepts and ideas in the development of the
project.
Moreover, a sound engineer's job is to make sure that the
physical studio connections and audio equipment used, is properly
configured, connected and setup to suite optimum usage for
any recording situation at hand. In other words the technical
lefthand of the producer.
The following services are offered under the music production
umbrella of the studio:
- Jingle Production (Radio advertisment)
Need to advertise your product or service on the radio?
Looking for that special, creative approach with high quality
production required? Jingle productions involve an array
of disciplines, which may include composing
and arranging the conceptual theme, design of sound
elements and loop-based audio combined with voice over recordings,
and then mixing and mastering to complete the radio advertisement.
- Music production
Music production is process-driven and the objectives and
the goals of the client, artist or group can have a huge
impact on the time it can take for completion of just one
single track or song.
Therefore we have employed a process whereby our clients
benefit from this, saving time, money and getting the most
out of their budget.
This process may cover anything from MIDI programming, sampling,
voice and pitch correction, pre-production required for
bigger projects, digital synthesis, digital effects or just
plain demo recordings.
- Album production
The bigger counterpart of music production. We offer solo-artists,
bands or other groups album productions.
Songs get recorded on a per-project basis and the process
of an album production can take anything from one month,
to six months, depending on the complexity and objective
for the artist or group.
After songs are recorded, premixes are made available for
the artist or group to review. Any changes or alterations
to the songs are done in this time and when the artists
or group are satisfied, step into final mixing which is
making sure the tracks of the songs are well balanced by
applying equalisation, effects, leveling and compression.
Mastering is the final step where all tracks for the album
are balanced through much the same levelling/balancing process.
In such cases we usually prepare the songs and album for
additional mixing and mastering by a third-party provider.
- Electronic music production
Styles and genres like contemporary pop music, contemporary
dance music, house music, hip hop, trance, trip hop, acid
jazz and various other styles and genres combined with essentially
computer generated music.
Most of our personalised backtracks are made this way and
remixes (see below) are done using the same method of computer
generated design and mixing.
Electronic music is one of the most popular influences today
and more artists and bands are using this production style
to combine with their existing music.
- Remixes
This is where we take an existing song and remix to your
requirements or for a special market, using either turntables,
sampling instruments and /or sequencers.
There are various types of remixes, but the objective of
any remix is to add a special flavour by means of possibly
re-arranging a song, add specific musical style elements
into a 're-mixed' concept or idea, much different to the
original song.
- Special productions
Personalised songs for weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries
fall into this category. If you would like to offer the
gift of music to a family member, friend, or surprise your
loved one, this is the perfect gift.
